A friend and I did the shorter of the two ramparts walk (from Jaffa Gate to the Dung Gate). The average time is estimated to take 30-45 minutes. It took us a bit longer because we stopped so often to take pictures and enjoy the...More

Not recommended. Haunted by bands of teenage gangs that harrass and threaten. People often accosted, robbed, or harrassed. You won't see all that much anyhow.

We only did small part of the walk and was not impressed by the view. You can get a glimpse of the dome of the rock between the satellite dishes once in a while... the archaeological park and tower of David can offer similar view,...More

I did the Rampart walk up from just inside the Jaffa Gate. I am glad I did it but really would not recommend it as the view is better from the David Citadel.

There are 2 routes - tickets near the Jaffa Gate and both entrances are near there. Prefer the south (longer) walk that exits near the Kotel. Download an audio tour for added benefit

One of the best things you can do to start your sojourn in Jeusalem. The two walks (one north , one south from Jaffa Gate give both a good overview of the lay of the old city and is a prominent part of it. The...More

This was a last minute decision for the two of us- we recommend this for those who have thoroughly experienced the Old City from the ground. Take water (even on a not so hot October day) and wear good shoes The fee was special for...More

I loved this experience of walking the rampart - you get such a sense of the city and the history. Entrance is next to the Jaffa gate - you have to do it!

I'm slightly disappointed by the Ramparts walk. I expected a bird's eye view of the old city, while in reality, you don't see much. If you want to see the modern city of Jerusalem, it's not too bad for the money. From the southern part,...More

amazing experience truly incredible what an awesome view of the city and surroundings with an entrance fee of pennies (and special discounts for students) I do advise caution when going on the northern ramparts for religous jews or other vulnerables to watch out not to...More

YES - we used the ticket to go North one day and then South the NEXT day... just confirm with the ticket agent when you buy it how long it is good for but you may definitely do it on different days. It is tiring enough that... More

You pass the gate into the square, and immediately on your left there is the tourist office where you get the tickets.
