We visited the museum with our teenage kids. It has a lot of installations, video materials, audio materials. You can spend a couple of hours walking through all the rooms. The 1st floor had replicas of many synagogs - very cool. You can look up your Jewish last name in the computer to see origins of it and possible relatives.... More

I have such fond memories of visiting Beit Hatfutsot as a child which is unfortunately the last time that this museum seems to have been updated. The permanent exhibitions feel like walking through a time warp and while the Jewish peoples' history hasn't changed, the museum experience has. I always enjoy pausing to watch the videos about Jewish communities in... More

Nothing special or worthwhile to justify the time and expense. You see them everywhere, specially in the streets of NYC. There are far more interesting places to explore in Jerusalem.

Lovely wonderful place to visit. The museum is very modern and very beautiful. I had a very good time viewing the collections this museum houses and looking at lots of very ancient artifacts. It was a very nice place to visit with friends. The layout will very well organized, It has a very lovely book store and is located on... More

My friend and I visited here and even though both of us have lived in Israel, neither of us had been here - much to our shame. We enjoyed the layout of the museum, there is an old wing and a new one and the old had more to it for my interest. However, there was much to be looked... More

This museum is massive. We were fortunate to catch the Bob Dylan exhibit. Very interesting. Also, the history of synagogues all over the world. The university is located in a wonderful area, great views and worth the trip out from the inner city.

I've been before but wanted to go back on this trip. As others note this is a bit dated. Still, it presents a moving and interesting history of the Jewish people in exile and their struggle to get back to their ancestral homeland. I've heard the museum is closing soon for a renovation and I will be curious to see... More

This museum had been getting dated, but the new wing is nothing short of spectacular. It has the famous synagogue models from the original museum, plus wonderful multimedia and innovative special exhibits. The interactive exhibit for children (Hebrew and English) is absolutely not to be missed if you have a child with you; there is a 90-minute limit for this... More
