Started to walk from Downtown to the mosque, about a 1/4 way up and steep incline at parts, a gentleman stopped me advised that we ( my daughter and I) better get there in a taxi, for safety reasons...we got the taxi to wait for us, while we took some photos. The entrance was locked up all around the perimeter.... More

Non-Muslims are generally not permitted inside. Looks nice form the oustid though. Take service taxi 25 or 26 from Italian St in downtown to the mosque, or charter a taxi.

Beautiful place to visit. Has some historical information if you ask. Would go back to pray and visit. Must take your shoes off and appropriate dress is required for prayers.

This is a very beautiful mosque built. It is called Abu Darwish Mosque which means Father of (his son) Darwish. It is a very beautiful mosque just on top of a mountain with a wonderful view over large parts of Amman

Abu Darwish Mosque is part of the history of new Amman. It was built on the middle of the past century .the white and the black stones make it different, and remarkable. It is a good idea when you are in Amman to stop by it

This pretty mosque on top of a hill is a most see, though you will NOT be able to enter it. The stripes are made by coloured stone, not paint. A taxi cab from the Citadel can take you in a quick trip to several viewpoints in old downtown Amman including this one. Expect to pay around 25 JD for... More

Abu Darwish is a nice mosque but does not have a tourist type attraction. The mosque has a standard structure.

Really beautiful building off the beaten track, near the Armenian quarter. We didn't go inside (don't think non Muslims are allowed) but sat in the courtyard outside watching the world go by. Worth seeking out
