Many of the interesting places in Amman are located on steep streets that are difficult to find and walk to. This is one of them. Once you find your way here, it seems like an oasis. It is pread out in many small buildings over many tiers with many interconnected rooms. They are mainly galleries for different forms of art.... More

Walked past without knowing. The entrance to the cafe is half way up the steps. Have added photos to help locate it. The cafe is a great place to relax with stunning views over Amman. The collection of art is eclectic.

This is truly a hidden cultural gem in Weibdeh! A series of old conserved houses, some of which were dwelled by ottoman and British personnels. Free entry, some rooms constantly used for Art exhibitions, another for an exhibition about the life of Khaled Shoman, and very beautiful views and old Arab gardens and fountains. The big shock is a stunning... More

As a location I find Darat al Funun fascinating, not only does it hold a number of early 1900's houses but also is home to a late roman temple turned church turned shrine. The upper area/ house has a lovely little covered area with a fountain were you can take tea and enjoy the atmosphere- artists and musicians usually visit-... More

Living just above this cultural place in Jebel Webdeh, i am used to go there, discover the new exhibitions, walk among some of the most beautiful houses in amman and a nice park and after that take a drink either on the shady terrace or in front of the view over amman. I warmfully recommand this place for a quiet... More

I live nearby and I love visiting this nice art gallery and beautiful garden. I enjoy the ruins of a Byzantine church below. I enjoyed recently an exhibition on glass fishes, that was really fantastic.

Interesting place across different buildings and terraces. Few visitors which was good for lingering visit. Gardens well maintained and lovely to sit in courtyard for drinks. Found the video of the Palestine farm which was reduced over the years by the Israeli government quite shocking and destructive. Leaving the family in disarray, all the time maintaining their dignity and bits... More

Darat al Funun is a small museum that is focused on Arab contemporary art and is situated in a former residential housing compound in Jebel al Luweibdeh. It also contains a very nice shaded garden with a fountain and a minimalist cafe. It's great to visit anytime if you just want to chill out and drink coffee, but if you... More

If you have walked for miles and miles sipping tea here smelling the flowers and enjoying the little fountains is define. We didn't see a lot of the Art but we surely enjoyed the area a lot.

Very hard to find! This was on our to-do list, with another one close by apparently undergoing renovations. Halfway down a long, steep flight of stairs an open door in the wall led into a shady space with some tables - no sign at the door, no-one to answer our queries. A children's creative workshop was taking place, so we... More
