This is an inspired collection. It is eclectic, being the product of two talented individuals; Tareq Rajab and his wife, housing both Islamic and ethnographic objects. While the scale of the museum is modest in relation to National collections, it remains a family collection of great importance and is honestly breathtaking in its range and quality with some truly fascinating... Kuwait does not have many museums. The Tarek Rajanb Museums - one for calligraphy and one for Islamic Arts are definitely places to visit. This Kuwaiti gentleman has been collecting pieces since he was a young boy. His collections come from all over the Middle East. To me (European) , the museum for Calligraphy, although it has outstanding collections, is... More

The museum is extensive and the quality and variety of the artifacts is impressive. In fact, I would describe the value of the collection as priceless. It is sad to see this wonderful museum so under visited. Anyone interested in Islamic history and art will love it. The pieces come from all over the Islamic world, from Morocco to India.... More

We have bean going to this museum for years and always find it very interesting. There's so much going on in there we tend to go for a few hours & go back again a couple of years later as there's so much to take in.

This museum is perfect with its enormous collection of calligraphy and art work. This place is really worth seeing if you enjoy history and calligraphy. Many pieces are very rare, hard to find. I have seen few other museums in the world with such ancient pieces.

I had to drive in circles for nearly one hour to find this place since even the TripAdvisor's location pin for this place is wrong, as is the Google Maps location pin as well. If that wasn't frustrating enough, their phone was busy the entire morning when I was trying to call them. Luckily, I had gotten through the day... More

The Tareq Rajab Museum is basically a house that has been converted into a display for old war finds. The outside does not look like much but the inside has astounding collections. You can see a variety of things, like swords, guns, cutlasses and more. They also have numerous interesting Qura'an manuscripts. Definitely a must see if you're interested in... More

Amazing place. Pictures don't do it justice. The entrance fee is just 2 KD, visits are not by appointment. The pottery collection is very large and comprehensive, including vessels from pre-Islamic times right up to the early 20th century. The museum is considered to be the world leading museum specialising in Silver Folk jewellery, it houses around 12,000 pieces. The... More

This is a private collection made over a lifetime by someone who truly loves and appreciates his culture. Visits are by appointment only but well worth it. The exhibits are very well arranged, most with descriptions in English.

Deceptive from the outside but crammed with beautiful and interesting artefacts. Something for everyone, I loved the jewellery, especially with the photos showing how it was worn. My husband loved the guns, my sister the pottery. Very tranquil and well worth a visit. A short walk from the calligraphy museum which is also stunning.
