I visited this place in 2006 really it's different than what i see in November 2016 Most of shops it's closed. But to be honest There are many construction and renovation I think the situation will be good when the tourists come back to Lebanon like before. We love Lebanon and we hope to it the best.

From the 1st look you will love this area but at the same time you will keep wondering why it is so empty and blocked by police forces I don't know why it is closed and wish someday to see it alive again

Interesting the contrast with the Hamra district. Only very expensive and occidental shops, Take a Pic in the "I Love Beirut" giant letters.

So this is the center of the city, lot of designers stores cool places to chill and relax, not for everyone to visit specifically for the on budget users
