I was not able to do any of the excursions due to time restraints but was able to go by for pictures and see for myself this great area of Oman. The desert is majestic with the multi color sands and rolling hills throughout. A must for anyone that can make the trip.

Enjoyed the sands as part of a 4x4 drive to our overnight camp and camel ride. They are beautiful and certainly worth the visit! Not just for the experience of seeing them, but walking around and seeing the sun rise. The way the sand moves and the animal prints in the sand are beautiful as well!

I had so much fun in wahiba sands, we enjoyed the dune bashing a lot! And experience my very first camel ride and loved it so far! Definitely will coming back here maybe next year.

Over priced "glamping" is not required as it's possible to do a day trip en route from Nizwa to Sur. Arabian Oryx Camp is close to the entrance and offers non-guests the ability to do the fun activities that most people enjoy (dune bashing, camel rides...). If you don't mind rustic accommodations and want to see the sun rise, then... More

We stayed at a luxury camp which was chosen to celebrate a special anniversary. However we met many who had chosen not to glamp, gone really basic and enjoyed their experience just as much as we did. Being taken up on a dune bash just before sunset to watch all the colours changing was beautiful and the stars in the... More

I have camped in Africa and this isn't as luxurious as some of the safari camps, but it is very comfortable. the rooms are well equipped although the bathrooms are rather small. We had 3 tents, one of which was a double bedroom which we shared with my daughter and 3 adults was a bit of a squash in the... More

We stopped for one night at Sama el Wasil desert camp. had a camel ride and later that night camel meet BBQ. the Safari in the desert was one of a kind experience. felt like being in the mars rover on another planet. People are extremely nice and welcoming. We had a fire camp at night and someone said: "apparently... More

We stopped by Wahiba Sands as a day trip on our way driving from Nizwa to Sur. We did the 30 min camel ride and 30 min dune bash Arabian Oryx Camp (cheaper than Desert Night Camp). The staff at Arabian Oryx Camp was rude but we got our activities done and left. There are a few other activities but... More

Great place to stay for a night and watch stars. Many offroad opportunities. It is possible to camp on sand or book a bed in one of many desert camps (signs will guide you). A lot of wild camels. At the begining of december temperature was like +30C during the day and almost +20C during night.

Relaxing sunset on the top are magical moments, you will never forget them, we spent the night in a very nice place, "Arabian Oryx Camp", the owner is a top interesting guy, very polite, very smart and our guide "Malek" is super super super, the best guide we had ever, we booked with a local company named "smart travel and...
