One of the old Iranian market in Qatar. Surrounded by many restaurants as lots of people are visiting including locals. One of the old market and you will chose what you want. You will get cultural items too.

Easy to loose quite a few hours in here. Very cozy, very easy to get to and get around in. And most importantly: No irritating merchants that shout at you. Here, people behave! Cafees and restaurant are varied and good. Everybody (locals, expats, tourists etc) comes here. Do not miss out on the camel and falcon shouks!

Heritage-flavored shopping Surrounded by a huge variety of restaurants. But may not be the cheapest in Qatar for cultural items

I lived in Doha for 2 years and have periodically visited the Souq. If you are into the clothing industry, you will find the greatest materials for the cheapest prices. Everything is negociable and if you seem willing to buy, discounts are on their way. There's a specific store that looks out to the street that sells flat breads with... More

Qatar is excellent in mixing between classical and modern life style, and what they did in Souq Waqif is a great success story in this area. Being from Bahrain, and visiting most of the GCC countries makes me say this with great confidence, this place is pretty much unique in the way it is managed, a must visit.

Although I understand the Souq was rebuilt a few years ago, the many shops and stalls give it lots of character. Unlike other souqs, for example in Egypt or Turkey, there is very little hassle from vendors and you can buy/view anything from enormous kettles to a parrot. Opens at 4pm and is really a must see part of Qatar.
