Feels like a Sunday every day of the week
You cannot miss going to the Souq. It feels like a Sunday every day of the week. All these narrow streets, people selling all sorts of goods. Everybody wandering around talking, laughing, shopping. We had a great time there, shame that it was rather cold, but we enjoyed it anyway.

    Cheap Market
I visited with friends there. You can find Iranian and Saudi products at a reasonable rate. Those who are looking for pets should visit this busiest place of Doha. You will see people from all walks of life, especially expats. One cannot avoid buying dry fruits from this market.

    Interesting experience
Great experience of the Middle East and we took our young toddler there to enjoy some sightseeing. Friendly shopkeepers and we were able to bargain a bit. We all enjoyed the atmosphere there as it seemed pretty safe to walk around even at night.

    DIsney-eque but interesting experience
Looking like it is a film set or a fake Disney-esque world. Made to look old but knowing it is new is a bit strange. However its is still interesting to wander around and see the different shops and the wares. Ranging from household items, clothing, spices and food to birds, small animals and reptiles and even shops selling Falcons. I didnt personally like the bird market - thousands of beautiful birds, small mammals, turtles and fish crammed into tiny cages was really disturbing and sad. That's just my thing. The men with the wheelbarrows that move goods around the market are all great to watch. Sprawling area and easy to get lost or turned around in the souk. Be prepared to wander further than you think and to come out a different exit than you expected ! Colourful, vibrant and great for people watching. Restaurants and coffee shops abound but we were there in Ramadan so nothing was open during the day - the shop keepers didnt start opening up there stalls until early evening. When the cannon signified end of fasting at 6 then everything sprung into life and it was packed until after midnight.

    Touristic place
Souq Waqif is simply the old Qatar. It is a must visit when in Qatar. It shows the old culture of Qataris and has a large number of shops where you can buy perfumes, spices, souvenirs, costumes, etc. There are also cafes and restaurants where we had the chance to watch the World cup!

A traditional souq- a must see
A must see if stopping in Doha. A traditional souq with many good eateries. The only disturbing thing were the caged animal pets for sale in the many pet shops. It felt like too many cramped in small cages. Maybe the authorities need to require larger cages or lesser numbers.

    Awesome Experience
Awesome experience with the family and friends from the USA. We especially enjoy the arabic foods. Bought some souvenirs from arabic culture. The people working there are accommodating and very responsive. A little bit crowded when you go there during the weekend.

    Great experience
Souq waqif was only a few minutes away from our hotel. Great market lots of small shops/stalls. Plenty to see from clothes to jewellery to lamps to gold souq shops, a shoppers dream come true. Plenty of restaurants and art gallery to see. Definitely well worth a visit.

Really nice to brows through !
If you have not experienced markets like this before you should. We have been lucky to experienced many, this one is different , local but tourist not so much in range but if you need a scarf or similar is fine. The restaurants are western food and some local. The gold section is amazing so much gold to choose from. We went late in the afternoon , cooler and more relaxing.

For me, this is the number one thing to do in Doha… Where else can you get an incredible slice of life walking through the market as if it was perfectly preserved from 1000 years ago? Add to that, food and drink and vendors of all types, and you have perfect place to spend a few hours of fun.

Very interesting to walk by and see the recreation center of a traditional town center. Better to do at night - kiddos entertainment.

Beautiful space to shop and eat at night. This was my highlight when staying at Park Hyatt Doha.

I also got a necklace made of my name in Arabic

Reminded me of a more humble version of Istanbul's Grand Bazaar- very walkable (and easy to get lost) maze of stands and shops. Felt that the quality of the merchandise was overall low and so did not purchase any souvenirs/gifts here.
