The fish and vegetable market are working markets. People are buying, selling, cleaning and moving. The variety of fish is extensive, some of the vendors speak English and like to talk to you, some like the photo taken. There are at least three separate areas. After you buy the fish take it down the hall and around a corner to... More

Superb variety and quality and reasonable value for money if you're prepared to haggle. Cost of cleaning is extra plus a tip to one of the green suited assistants who are very helpful. Helps to be familiar with the local types of fish before going there.

I visit the fruit & veg market (kilo bazaar not wholesale market) every week. I enjoy browsing & supporting the local economy. Produce varies & is seasonal, as is to be expected, & sellers will often offer you a taste before you buy, e.g. a grape, or piece of fruit. Some real gems are available, such as local Doha red... The vegetable and Fish Market is adjacent to Wholesale Market, Doha- Qatar. It was great experience to buy fresh fish from there with variety of options. There is a separated section for cleaning the fish with some charges per kilo. Better to visit early in the morning.

You dont have to get the fish from there. You can get better deals from local malls which is cheaper and cleaner. The area is extremly smelly and crowded. On thursdays it gets worse. You can get less crowded fish market direct from fishermen on the corniche near Haloul Cafe just opposite the under construction mesuem.

It is a nice place if you want to buy seafood like fish, brawns, crabs and others. Many tourists do visit this place with their kids and cameras to see different types of fishes and document those moments.
