A UNESCO heritage located around an hour's drive out of town with some really good roads and is easily approachable. Worth seeing! gives a great contrast of the recent old civilization and military stronghold. Archaeological sites are nearby and you can also have a swim in the beach. However, do not confuse to be a very worth-while typical Arabian heritage.

This fort is located south of the corniche, which is opposite of the skyline of Doha, and it is next to the Persian gulf.

A fascinating archaeological site which relates to the ancient pearling industry. The air-conditioned information center is very informative with small but relevant displays. The fort is an hour out of town on good roads. There was no shop facility o take water etc. Well worth the effort to visit this UNESCO world heritage site

The fortress is with less than 90 years quite young and historically not important but it accommodates a museum well worth seeing.

I went with business but you could be a family. i liked the contrast between the new city and the very old fort. tastefully arranged and with enough interesting details. Nice cafe for coffee and cakes by the sea.

This is a pretty cool place to go, and see for historical value. It isn't over the top, but worth seeing if you have a day to see the older sites.

Must visit the place in the evening. The light and boats make the place more beautiful. One of the tourist stop in Doha.
