nice place to visit. The water is calm and warm and good for young children or beginner swimmers. Or if you are like me and just want to kick back.

One of the most beautiful beaches in south america, this is the calm beach part (two main beaches, the Mansa and the Brava), each one with its own characteristics. The Mansa, the quite one, is the more relaxing one, with a large walking cost, incredibly beautiful view, very enjoyable water, and what is more important, is the atmosphere that can truly... More

Nice white sandy beaches and warm waters. I arrived via Ferry from Argentina to Uruguay, then I got onto a bus to Punta del Este. Everything was pretty straight forward and manageable. You'll find your "whose who" of South America's rich and famous....not that I did or cared to. The prices can be a bit higher than Montevideo, but it... More

If you want to be on the calm side of the ocean ..you swim and play on the beaches at "playa mansa" great for small children and more relaxed then the ocean side which enjoys in contrast surfers and the fearless swimmers riding or diving into the waves with abandon !

My wife was mugged by two men on a motor bike at mid-day on the main beach road. When they grabbed her bag she was pulled off her bicycle. She suffered severe lacerations to her head, a broken shoulder and severe abrasions to both arms and both legs. I called 911 and tried to get an ambulance but they refused... More

We loved spending Easter day at playa mansa. We thought there would be tons of families out and about, but found the beach relatively un-crowded -- plenty of space for everyone and great views!

Great beach. The more sheltered beach compared to those on the other side. Very family friendly and close to shops and restaurants. Busy December to March but empty all the other months

Playa Mansa is an excellent place for familes who want to spend a wonderful time in a beautiful beach, without worying about security. The only thing is that they could offer more place to eat.

there are much nicer beaches in the world. such a shame because the sand and view are lovely but i couldn´t go in the water because there are jellyfish as big as plates everywhere...other people were making of day of fishing dozens of them out and dumping them on the sand before going in.
