We started our exploration of Bogota here. It's a great neighborhood to take a walk and experience local culture and food. The kids enjoyed feeding the pigeons and eating ice cream. The Botero Museum is in walking distance from here.

Nice area for a walk through historic buildings. Downside is the large amount of transient homeless leading to questionable safety. Very good nightlife with lots of pubs, theme restaurants. Not easy to find parking, must take cab or uber.

This place is full of places to eat and drink plus lots to see, and this is where the Beyond Colombia 'free' tour takes place. Well worth a visit and nicer than the main part of the city in my opinion.

I really recommend going. A street with vendors, shops and restaurants. Hotels and where you can walk and enjoy.

The modern, upscale neighborhoods of Northern Bogota and the older, historic neighborhoods of Southern Bogota feel like two completely different worlds. I stayed in La Candelaria while I was in town, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It felt authentic, there was so much character and...More

We recently had the pleasure to explore La Candelaria and all it's interesting sights. Very hip, cool, funky neighborhood, particularly the Called del Embudo. A must do if in Bogota to get a different perspective on this cray city!

I'm not sure of your desired "adventure level"... I've stayed in both Chapinero (where The Cité Hotel is located) and in Candelaria. Here's the thing... during the day, Candelaria is wonderful. The old buildings, the shops... More
