Just another busy street with nothing special about it except too much traffic. Main though fare of the town.

For every need just go here lol it's truly a one stop shop! There's Phone companies, boutiques, bars, restaurants, parking spots, hotels, clubs and most importantly the police station! So you can have fun and still be protected...

As the capital of French Guyana, this is a typical shopping street. Plenty of bargins and choice. Designer outlets and Chinese shops abound. Also places to buy jewelry and watches. Shopping malls also on the outskirts like Carreforour , and homeware shops. You would need a car or taxi as there is no public transport in Cayenne.

It is important because it is the main street, and leads to/from Les Palmistes, but all in all, it offers a selection of fairly drab shops, and no restaurants of note. One can not miss it, but it is not really worth trying to find!

This is just another street - nothing of particular merit - there are plenty of examples of colonial architecture in surrounding streets.

No particular features of this road that make it especially interesting. The section near the main square is perhaps slightly more attractive but really it's not a tourist attraction in itself.

Ave de Gaulle is the shopping heart of Cayenne center but is simply a somewhat wider two lane street with drab 3-4 story buildings and street level shops. There is nothing of architectural interest or visual excitment. Surprisingly, there are more higher end stores than one would expect mixed in with the usual tourist chaka shops. Walking de Gaulle gives... More
