I had a great time walking through the zoo. Although the animals are sparse, the remaining animals are beautiful. My favorite was the cage full of anacondas - and they were active! The zoo is very popular with local schools, so expect to see hordes...More

This little zoo had some nice looking large red birds and some green parrot-type ones. I am not sure how they got them. A friend told me that they were rescued birds. There were signs all over asking people not to feed and touch animals....More

Needs some tender loving care. It's free and pleasant area to walk around and visit grave sites of prominent Guyanese leaders since independence.

What a sorry sight!!! Very few animals and even fewer visitors. Not worth the effort to visit. Didn't see many of the animals, mostly empty cages.

This zoo has some animals that I've never seen elsewhere such as the manatee and many kinds of jaguars and leopards. It was very hot so our tour was kept short but enjoyable.

This zoo contains many bird species, which made the visit interesting. However, the tigers and leopards are in too small cages, it's sad to see. The monkeys didn't get a lot of space either.
