The fish market was very interesting, a bit smelly but great variety of fish. Onto coffee, good, then the pastries. Oh my goodness very nice! We changed our Aussie dollars to local currency but they do take small Aussie notes. Good for nick nack souvenirs....More

You don't need to take a tour, just walk there yourselves from the ship or take a short taxi ride.

We are visiting soon. Food at the hotel is quite expensive and I was wondering where we can get some basic items like fruit, bread, cheese etc for snacking on or making a light breakfast on the hotel room. Is this market a good place? Are there other markets or shopping centres around the very southern part of Noumea? Thx

Go to the large supermarkets Casino,Carrefour and Geant also a nice supermarket Casino Johnson ask the Hotel front desk they will tell you the closest market.
