Its a working market, not really a tourist attraction. Was interesting to see the produce and chat to some locals.

If you like to shop for fresh produce, go there. You will see the part of local living but there is not much for tourists to buy and unfortunately as many places in Honiara, there was full of rubbish. I was mindful of pickpockets but I was shocked when a man tapped on my hand that was holding a slushee... More

A must do if your in the Honiara CBD. Excellent range of local fresh produce and fish. Need to be careful with pick pockets as you would in any marketplace.

This is the market the locals go to. But unlike other Pacific Islands the solomons is full of thugs and crooks. The market is also filthy, absolutely filthy, nowhere that you would go as a tourist destination.

Honiara Central Market is a great place to observe a snapshot of Solomon Islands commerce in one hit. Most of SI farming is subsistence, and the surplus ends up here at the Honiara Central Market. It's not a place to stop and watch, you need to keep moving, and it's one of the busiest places in Guadalcanal. You'll find everything... More

I love local markets. You get to see odd produce, interesting souvenirs, wonderful fish, and local people dressed in their usual clothes. Many markets now have people resistant to photographs. Not here. People are happy to pose and be photographed. They are very friendly and you can get some great pictures in a truly local environment.

There is not much sightseeing to do in Honiara. The Central Market is a nice place to go to enjoy some local flavors. Loads of fresh vegetables and fruits on sale. Beautiful and inviting fish. Of course clothes. Nobody tries to force their merchandise on the tourist. People are very friendly.

The Honiara Market is where the locals go to shop. As well as the many stalls selling fruit, vegetables and fish, there are also clothing stalls and handicraft stalls. The market is where you will find the man who turns x-rays into artwork. On Saturdays, the flower sellers are out in force, and the flowers are cheap! Note: The market... More
