We were recommended by a friend and after booking found that our booking was forgotten. We waited at our resort for an hour and then were picked up by a clapped out uncomfortable port vila bus . We then were taken to the cultural centre and then hurried out when a really interesting dance and sand painting demonstration was in... More

I, with three friends, took the Chief Roi Matta tour and enjoyed it immensely. I had heard of the story and visiting the different sites brought it to life. The time spent on Hat Island, site of the burial was quite moving, it obviously still has a powerful influence on local people. Seeing the photos of the burial site taken... More

We embarked on this trip with our 3 children and thoroughly enjoyed it. We felt priveleged to be welcomed to the village and to see the culturally important sites. We enjoyed a swim, a meal and the kids especially enjoyed the adaptable pace and hermit crabs. The value of the trip is in the story, woven into the context and... More

We weren't sure what to make of the tour at first but were so glad we perservered with it as it ended up being the highlight of our Vanuatu holiday. However, people who are not used to, or prepared to try, local food, or accept that village life means no toilets (or clean ones), no electrcity etc need not bother... More

it was really bad, the tour guide is quite slopy, the dance was cancelled, the so called "lunch" was just some fruit and a snack, and there is really NOTHING to see at all. It worths nothing compare to the AU$200 price I paid. Definitely the biggest waste of money & time I spent in Vanuatu.

The full day tour of the Roi Mata site was a great experience - run by the local people, it gives an insight into local culture, with local food and local tour guides. The day tour included 2 boat trips - to an impressive cave site, and to the island where the grave of Roi Mata lies. The Roi Mata... More
