I loved this little island. You can take a public bus to the island and then a boat which is a little $$ for the short trip, but once there the islands really cool. Got some cool snorkeling and an underwater “post office” where you...More

We found Hideaway Island a bit underwhelming. Especially considering it's not that cheap to get into the island. You can't bring your own food and drinks. I quite frankly we had better snorkelling at a couple of other places which were free. It's ok, but...More

Would definitely recommend a trip to Hideaway island. The ferry across is free but you do have to pay an island fee when you get there. They have snorkel equipment to hire and we bought a postcard to post in the underwater post office which...More

Great snorkelling off the beach, plenty of fish and coral. Buy a special postcard for 400vt and post at the under water post office! Reasonable food and drinks at the beach bar.

The abundance of marine life so close to shore is mind-blowing. Waters are calm shallow with no current. Great for all experience levels. Good diving, too.

Great service by the waiters. Always polite and serving with a smile. Always received my food order within 10 minutes. Marvelous customer service.

Snorkeling was excellent and easy but dismayed by not being able to bring own food for a day trip and being forced to buy meals and drinks from the resort restaurant even though there was an entry charge.

We only visited Hideaway to do some snorkeling. It was the perfect spot. As soon as you hit the water, there are so many beautiful things to see. Would love to go back for more snorkeling

caught a bus for 800 vatu (4 people) from vila to mele bay then an easy boat transfer over to the island. Found low tide or tide going out the best time to snorkel as once the tide starts coming in the visibility drops. Fish,...More

You might be able to do it. The locals are very friendly & will help you were they can but overall the country is unfortunately not very accessible to individuals with disabilities. Best to book an official tour who may be... More

Shouldn't cost you more than 1000 Vatu per person one way for a bus or you're definitely paying foreigner prices. It costed me 300 Vatu to get from the middle of port Vila to hideaway via bus.
