I can't even express my feeling when I was first reached there. I was so excited, happy and can't even imagine or believe that those many people are stay on that very big lake from time ago when they don't have the engine boats. The lake is really really big and we need to take a day to go around... More

I spent 3n/4d on this lake and made memories that will stay with me forever. The fabulous mix of the sounds the wildlife, the local people going about their daily life, and the scenery makes this place of natural beauty a must see!

Amazing to travel around the Lake in small 1- 6 seater long boats. Take it slow or fast as you like, but there is so much to see. Ruined Stupas recently recovered from the jungle growth, weaving, fishing etc temples. Amazing to see how they grow their vegies in the water over lotus beds and how they row with their... More

We met the charming Phyoe by the jetty in Nyaung Shwe and were soon convinced that a day trip on his family boat would be what we were looking for. We were not disappointed. Next day, his brother Myo, who is the boat captain, met us at 7.30am at the jetty. Wrapped in the blankets provided, in the chill of... More

I spent a day on the lake visiting the market and some of the villages and businesses like lotus weaving , paper making, silversmith and cigar maker. Also had lunch at a floating restaurant. Saw the local fishermen who have a unique fishing technique . It was one of them most memorable days of my life.

Are there things on a visit to Inle Lake that you may not like. Sure -- the boats are noisy, there is some rubbish in the lake (as in every land-based community), and you need to be careful about what you buy. But Inle Lake has natural beauty, beauty created by humans (the floating gardens), and a fascinating melange of... More

The minute we stepped into the Jetty, we felt that this was going to be a very different but appealing experience and it was. The water close to the embarkation points is usually colored brown from the sand, but as you go deeper into the lake and especially to the vast open lake, the water becomes clear and absolutely beautiful.... Lots of interesting places to visit! Get out early to enjoy the sunrise and bring an umbrella to avoid getting cooked in the sun!:p

We booked a boat from some guy that stopped us on the road while walinkg around in Nyaung Shwe. We paid 20000 kyats for a day tour. All tours include visits to silver factory, weaving factory, cigar factory, floating market, floating gardens and jumping cats monastery. When booking the tour, we also chose to go to In Dein temple, and... More
