This park is located near Sule Pagoda & has a tall monument in the centre. There's also a children's playground. The monument has plaques in Burmese writing & large lion sculptures surrounding it. A lot of children try to sell u things. It is also located near the embassies and a street food. The monument is telling a story and... More

I would recommend to visit the park at night although you cannot enter, you still have the chance to take nice pictures towards the pagoda in the circle. The setting is nice there and evening time you find a lot of small eating places on the road. There is a nice flair and it isn't so hot in the evening.... More

The park attracts lots of local and tourists to its grounds. Located right in the city center, one can see Yangoon's people's daily lives and the history of Myanamr's once capital city. But it's too sunny. Even for my taste!! Some chairs with shades or trees could improve the situation maybe?

There are no public toilets here. Be warned! The traffic in Yangon is among the worst that we have seen around the world. But this square is delightful. Well maintained, and surrounded by so much colonial architecture.

Green. Beautiful. Clean. Quite impressed on how they managed the park. Very picturesque for photography. Nice place to hangout with friends and family during winter

This park has lovely big open spaces and there was a photo exhibition on when we were there. We were pestered a bit by girls selling postcards--my husband is a photographer and they didn't seem to take the hint that he could take the same photos. There are public toilets at one side which proved very useful at times. Central... More

On a weekend, this place will be teeming with locals. Some of them may try to initiate a conversation with you, only to find out that they're just spinning a story to sell you their boat tours. Don't fall for it. Take some time to look at the independence monument and the food stalls set up just outside the park.... More

It was located just across the busy main road from Sule Pagoda. After I had visited the pagoda, I just crossed the road to this park. At one corner of the park, I noticed the sharp tall pointed roof of the Immanuel Baptist Church. The architectural outlook looks unique and I understand it was originally built in 1885 but destroyed... More

It was so lovely to just lie down on the grass and watch the people do the same. It's a nice way to watch the Burmese and and at this moment enjoy the photo festival. Lot's of people come here in the morning to workout, do guided meditation or yoga-ish things. The afternoon is well spend on the grass in... More
