I am really hoping to learn about varieties of gems stone, how to differentiate the qualities, and how do gems mining become impactable for Burmese societies. Unfortunately I didn't find all what I am looking for in here. Museum only displayed the varieties of gemstones whether they are raw or already made as jewelries. It doesn't tell us the history... I was expecting some amazing gems and gemstone specimens because most of them are mined here! Nice LITTLE selection but nothing to write home about. Little shops in the building but a lot of them sell stones that are are not what they claim so be careful.

An eye opener place to learnt and appreciate the varieties of Jadeite, and all the beautiful gems stones of Burma. Definitely a must to visit, and the huge selections of little stores to browse and the fun of bargaining.

The museum features samples of uncut and cut gemstones from Myanmar. Lots of pretty things. It also has 3 floors of government certified jewelry shops for you to acquire your own shiny things.

Grab and taxi and travel to this place about 30 minutes from downtown. It's excellent for buying jewels, especially serious ones. Much better and more reliable that the Scots Market. You can bargain for a better price but expect to pay reasonable prices for high quality stones.

I came here for buying something for my family, not for visiting the museum. You can buy jewelry from this place but you have to bargain for a better price. Jade, amber, topar, many kinds of gem and stone. You can talk to the seller and learn about gem.

Nice place to learn about the gems before buy one, the museum looks old but the gems are most precious so worth visiting with 5USD.
