So much of real life, communicated often without English. So many photo ops out of open doors. Chatted with a young monk for 30 minutes. Would do again. To find entrance at main station, Take overpass with covered walkway with embellishments about half way down the raised overpass then follow downward steps to platform. 200 kyat at square booth, inside,... Only took this for about 30 into central Yangon so I did not see the more out of town bits. It was an interesting experience overall. However, we waited 1 hour and 20m in the heat just to get a train, we got the impression that one maybe had been cancelled at one point. Perhaps try and establish the train... More

The Yangon Circular Train was built by the British in 1954. It covers a railway track loop of 45.9 kilometers and stops at 39 stations. It takes almost 3 hours to complete the journey. Trains make both clockwise (Right) and counter-clockwise (Left) journeys daily along the railway loop.

Starting at Yangon Central Railway Station you can take the train in a loop that takes 3 hours. (You might be able to start the loop at another station.) For this journey you pay the basic sum of 200 Kyat (less than 0.25 cents). On the train you will see local people going about their business and there are numerous... More

This is not a tourist train - be aware! However, if you want to see a really honesty snapshot of Yangon over a slow and meandering journey, this is a great way to do it. We paid just over a dollar for our whole family and hopped on and off as we pleased. Make sure you get off and delve... More

It was a little confusing at first. You have to buy your tickets for 200k on platform 6/7 and then get on the train for platform 4. We asked people were to go and everyone was helpful; even those that didn't speak English called over someone who did. Toilets are at the end of the platform. They are squat toilets... More

At first I wasn't feeling the train but after a few stops and getting out of the city I really enjoy the sights and locals. The people on the train interacted with us and gave us fruit to try. The kids and some adults watching the train go by waved and smiles when they seen us. It cost us 20... More

I loved seeing so much of Yangon from the train, with all the sellers coming on board. A brilliant experience, but quite warm.
