If strolling around Yangon you will surely see this beautiful Catholic Church. No matter what your belief you are welcome to go inside and it is worth it. The architecture and decorations were unexpected. A free and interesting place to visit as you explore.

It is an impressive old, but well maintained building of the Catholic church in Yangon, Myanmar. The altar was being decorated with ferns, which 3 different people were tying by hand, in a row, and one-by-one.

This Cathedral is in an interesting part of town quite a few of the parks, Mahabandoola Park named after General MahaBandula who fought against the British in the first Anglo-Burmese War.

Really nice, I went in the morning, quiet and beautiful. First day, I just walk around downtown Yangon so I could see the market, the cathedral, train station, city hall, Sule pagoda. Great Day, my advise: keep the market and train station for midday when it s really hot

The outside looks brand new and also the interior is worth a quick peek. A good stopover if you're in the neighbourhood.

Not many tourists visit Saint Mary's Cathedral, but I found it a very attractive place to visit. The interior of architecture built up with magnificent color, which is very different from the overall surrounding areas of Yangon. It's European style, but more towards the Eastern European culture, and also part Burmese spirit. Worth to drop a visit, is indeed a... More

Make sure you don't miss this for a change of scenery. After seeing "hundreds" of temples, you are ready to enter something familiar that is so serene and peaceful inside. What a nice interior that will make you sigh, a good kind of sigh.

Nice stained glass windows, did not expect to go to a Cathedral in Yangon, typical of a European or American Catholic Cathedral. Was here with a private tour of the city.
