I had a lovely time in Tbilisi, but i found this to be a bit of an anti climax to be honest. The train ride is barely 90 seconds long and in my opinion not much of an event in itself. The views at the...More

Very good and is a must but I you have to get a non refundable tourist card. Views from top are impressive and was better than the cable car

the trip up the funicular gives great views of tbilisi, the river, bridges, churches, the presidents palace and the home of Ivanshvili, the oligarch. At the top is a nice restaurant to sit outdoors and enjoy the scenic views

It is worth a ride on the funicular railway to see the view from the top and to visit the church on the way down. It is very popular with locals at weekends so would suggest midweek if possible.
