It's not worth it to go only to see this attraction. Some ruins of an old fortress. Since you go up there to see the city, it's a 10 minute hiking to see this as well.

A cable car takes the tourists to the top of the hill having a fortress existing since 4th century and renovated later . Visit 30 mins before sunset and stay 45 minutes past sunset for an Amazing view of day & nightly view of the City Centre from a hill fortress.

This large and impressive fortress reigns in the landscape of Tbilisi from its position it top of a dominant hill. Great to look from the bottom and to explore when you are in. A bit dangerous in certain areas because the decay but with a great sense of historical background. Great fun to spend a couple of hours climbing the... More

Upon arriving to Tbilisi, you'll notice that the old town is surrounded by the river Kura to the east, TV tower hill to the west and hill with Narikala Fortress to the south. Even though TV tower hill is twice as higher, view from Narikala is more scenic, with views to old town on one side and botanical garden on... More

A must do in Tbilisi for great views of the city and the cable car ride. The fort is not special and not much to see there apart from a church, however worth going for the views. However, if you're pressed for time, the views from the funicular are better.

Once you get to the fortress the steps to climb to the top of the walls are very narrow and there are no railings. I was not brave enough or sure-footed enough to climb very high on the fortress ruins, but that did not stop most other people. I was told there has never been an accident, but I didn't... More

Lovely little spot from which to view the city. The cable car is a very short ride but worth it going up. Virtually no signage and absolutely no info at the site--bring a guide(book) if you want to appreciate where you are.
