I have been before, last time in winter. It's a fair walk uphill but worth the view. You also get to go inside the church, all free of charge, the church is fairly small so difficult to enjoy in high season. The garden at the back has a lot of benches and two water fountains to drink from. Amazingly cold... More

King Vakhtang Gorgasali was the founder of Tbilisi and a beautiful Monument to commemorate him, on horseback is located near the Metekhi Cathedral , on the top of the hill from where you get a beautiful view of Old City. The Monument also features on the resverse of the GEL 20 Banknote. This is an interesting Monument and should be... More

Located just near the Metekhi Cathedral. Overlooking to a river and The bridge of peace. The view is spectacular!

Stand near the statue and look with the King on the Kura river and the Old City on the opposite bank of the river.

King Vakhtang on horseback over looks the city in Tbilisi. It is adjacent to the Mehtki Church. Not to visit by itself, but while visiting church.

This review is quite late. The Monument of Georgian King Vakhtang Gorgasali is strategically located on top of the hill which overlooks the city of Tbilisi. It is an attraction any visitor will not miss when touring around the Old City.
