In the morning, we took the subway to Achasan station and exit via Exit 2. We mainly followed the locals. There was a steep slope of road that you need to go through during our journey to the starting point of Mount Achasan. Not at a very good and healthy state, we managed to climb up the huge amount of... More

Great outdoor activity away from bustling seoul . We took taxi from myeongdong to achasan ecological park and back - cost around KRW15000 each way. We started from ecological park to sunrise square ( another 1 km to reach achasan peak ) -- took us 1.5 hours up and back. Easy path , some part with wooden-built staircase. The sunrise... More

Achasan is a relatively easy climb with miles of trails and great views of Seoul and the surrounding areas. Some of the signage is in English and Korean.

If you need a quick break from the crowds in the city -- and the more popular mountains like Gwanaksan -- Achasan is for you. It is the only mountain in the Seoul area where I've ever gone for more than 5 minutes without encountering another hiker. A truly peaceful place to encounter nature.

This is a nice little hike in the heart of Seoul. Easy walk from the subway. Just Google "hiking in Seoul" for a link to the Korea tourism page that gives directions and details. I hiked up with my wife and 4 kids, the youngest of which was 4. They all made it up, not without some fussing but that... More

This is definitely a nice mountain walk. Though when coming in January, u won't expect much. I suggest to go definitely in Spring or Fall if u want to see the pretty leaves or greeneries. But coming to the mountain is definitely something different for me as I have visited Seoul for many many times. The walk is easy ...... More

Great walk, great view. There are different ways to take, but for sure you'll have a good time. You can go there with an empty bottle of water and fill it in there with free natural water. Have fun with the air pressure to clean your dusty trousers !

Achasan was a surprising great hike! I just went (late December 2014) for the first time expecting it to be overcrowded and extremely icy. However, my wife and I only saw about 20-30 people there throughout the 3 hours we hiked. So it was a very quiet hike which was really needed since living in such a busy city. Being... More

Achasan is a mountain famous for been a strategic location when the 3 kingdoms fought for Seoul. A Fortress Wall remains but don't expect to see much of it, It's almost 100% gone. To access the mountain, you can go from the Subway station "Achasan" or "Gwangnaru" on the purple line. from there walk around 20 minutes following the signs... More

Who knew the absolute best view of Seoul is from Achasan mountain? N Seoul Tower, 63 Building, Bukhansan peak? Nope, none of these are quite as good as the magnificient display that greets hikers on Achasan. If you visit during pleasant weather you will be rewarded with truly wonderful panoramic views of Seoul. N Seoul Tower is highlighted well as... More
