The Trickeye Museum is an art gallery with paintings created using 'trompe l'oeil' techniques that give each 2D art piece the illusion of being in 3D. Instead of merely viewing paintings (as in a typical art gallery) visitors can interact with the paintings, posing themselves just right so that they look as if they are part of the original work. Moreover, Ice Museum is located in the Trickeye Museum, which is made in all ice such as iced TV and iced kichen. You can enjoy museum activities all in iced.To ensure that even its busiest patrons have time to enjoy the fun, the museum stays open each day until 9PM(last admission by 8PM), making it a popular date and hang-out place.Outside of the main exhibition hall is a main square that is decorated like the Santorini in Greece. The main square is also home to the museum café (simply called ‘Cafe Santorini') which serves you muffin and drinks.

Trickeye Museum is best for taking awesome 3D pictures. Just outside are korean restaurants where you can dine after taking a lot of souvenir pictures.

I visited with some friends and I have to say that for such a small museum, the fun was huge. Lots of awesome murals to take some convincing photos. The ice museum which was also included on the ticket was also fun, cold, but worth seeing. I recommend It. What I love the most was that there was something for... More

We had a great time here with all the different places you can take photos on. It wasn't too busy, we were able to get a photo on all the pieces without waiting too long

This museum has some fun illusions to take funny pictures, but it definitely didn't seem worthy of the high ratings it has on here. I also found the price (15,000 won) a bit much considering how much in Seoul is both more worthwhile and cheaper. It wasn't bad, but I would have rather kept my money.

Trickeye museum is some distance from Hongik University station. It is at the basement of a building with the love museum which is not accessible to children. Some of the paintings at Trickeye are faded due to people touching or leaning against them. There is no clear sign on the floor to show the photographer where to stand to take... More

Thank you for such a detailed review. We did not put "photo point" footprints in the Water zone for purpose because the entire room is one giant artwork, so footprints would mess the concept. We hope the pictures on the wall were enough to guide you to a good photo position. Again, thank you visiting our museum and leaving a... More

A pretty lame collection of tired back drops for visitors to take cheesy photos that create optical illusions. Bit of fun for the kids but overall not worth the effort in a city with so much more to offer.

Staying in Hongdae

Neighbourhood Profile
Hongdae
Carefree enthusiasm is everywhere in this energetic neighborhood centered on Hongik University, Korea’s top art school. From its assortment of murals to the occasional amateur street performances, creativity and expression make up the wild and beating heart of vibrant Hongdae. At the Free and Hope Market (weekends at the Hongdae Children’s Playground) you'll find one of Seoul’s most popular handmade and creative markets drawing consistent crowds. At Hongdae, there’s never a shortage of things to do and see; food and drink options are nearly endless as are shops and noraebang (karaoke) rooms. Hongdae is also one of Seoul’s top party and club scenes catering to a younger demographic; if a packed club isn’t your scene, you'll also find a range of music venues and bars offering live music in all genres. Although Hongdae has lost much of its unique appeal and undergone rapid commercialization in recent years, be sure to explore Hongdae’s edges in areas such as Sangsu-dong and Yeonnam-dong where Hongdae’s fiercely independent streak still runs freely.
