"A talented troupe of Korean performers treats Cookin' audience to a taste of Culinary lunacy-sliced and diced to percussive perfection." - Playbill, Minetta Lane Theatre-NANTA premiered in 1997 and is the longest running show in Korean history. This electrifying 90-min show, on the comically-charged efforts of four cooks who are tasked with preparing an entire wedding banquet in just one hour, is one of Korea's most popular musicals of all time. Since its first performance, this world famous non-verbal performance made a record of 20% above full capacity at the theatre driving the largest number of audience in Korean history.

Have been looking forward to watch this performance for a long time and finally did. They did not disappoint and it was thoroughly enjoyable and very entertaining! The performers are funny and professional, even with their knives! Good interactions with the audience. Recommend to get seats closer to the stage.

Did not know what show was it all about before our tour group brought us here. We had to do a short 50m walk along small alley before going down a long starcase. We ended up feeling satisfied and entertained. Thumbs up from me.

The Nanta theatre is an interesting eclectic mix of humour, music, cooking and is fun in general. Kids would love it. Foreigners would find it to be an interesting experience but it is not traditional Korean culture really. I wish there was more variation and they change the routine a little as it is not so much fun for hosts... More

Highly fun and entertaining show that is a must see during a visit to Korea. There's some stunning skill on display (and a lot of food waste!) but it is a guaranteed good time for everyone.

Watched it once when it came to Singapore and promised myself to watch them wherever they are. I found them and it was entertaining as was the first time I watched! Still very good and I'm impressed as always. Will watch again!

Came here as part of a tour package and the seating is good at the 3rd row which has a clear view of the performance. Generally it seems that the theatre is not that big thus the view should be quite ok even if you are sitted at the back. Entertaining and funny performance which makes this a must watch... More

Staying in Hongdae

Neighbourhood Profile
Carefree enthusiasm is everywhere in this energetic neighborhood centered on Hongik University, Korea’s top art school. From its assortment of murals to the occasional amateur street performances, creativity and expression make up the wild and beating heart of vibrant Hongdae. At the Free and Hope Market (weekends at the Hongdae Children’s Playground) you'll find one of Seoul’s most popular handmade and creative markets drawing consistent crowds. At Hongdae, there’s never a shortage of things to do and see; food and drink options are nearly endless as are shops and noraebang (karaoke) rooms. Hongdae is also one of Seoul’s top party and club scenes catering to a younger demographic; if a packed club isn’t your scene, you'll also find a range of music venues and bars offering live music in all genres. Although Hongdae has lost much of its unique appeal and undergone rapid commercialization in recent years, be sure to explore Hongdae’s edges in areas such as Sangsu-dong and Yeonnam-dong where Hongdae’s fiercely independent streak still runs freely.
