Namsan Park is a huge hill in lush greenery in the very center of Korea capital.
To explore it easily I suggest taking the cable car one way up to the hilltop where's the N Seoul tower base.
From here just slowly descend down along the pathway. You'll see old medieval city walls, beautiful nature and excellent views of Seoul from several spots. This very pleasant nature walk will take up to an hour of your time.

Want a breath taking view of the Seoul skyline, then take a walk to Namsan Park!
Take the lift to bring you to the top and look for the best vantage point to start taking your pictures.
On the way, you will see all those “love” padlocks which lovers place there as a sign of their everlasting love.
The view is quite exhilarating but go there towards late afternoon as it can get quite hit during the day.

We actually took almost an hour light casual hike to the top and it was actually a nice yet healthy experience (we actually entered from a different entrance).
so If you're looking for the cable car make sure you know where u are going!
also another option is one of the bus stops/pick up

Namsan Mountain is a 878 feet -high peak in Jung-gu Seoul.
South Korea. Although known as Mongmyeoksan, in the past, it is now commonly referred to as Mt. Namsan. It offers some hiking, picnic areas and views of downtown Seoul's skyline. The North Seoul Tower is located on top of Mt. Namsan. The mountain and its surrounding area is Namsan Park, a public park maintained by the city government, which has panoramic views of Seoul. It is also the location of a smoke signal station called Mongmyeoksan Beacon Tower, which was part of an emergency communication system during much of Seoul's history until 1985. From 1925 to 1945 the Japanese Shinto shrine known as Chosen Jungu was situated on Mt. Namsan. There is alsop a cable c ar at Namsan

Namsan is the holy mountain of Seoul. At the heart of the Korean capital, it offers a convenient high point to check out Seoul's skyline as well as some lush space in the city center. A pleasant cable car ride offers an unparalleled panorama while more interested visitors can go up to N Seoul Tower.

Party with a View
Better than Busan X the SKY (LCT Tower), Kpop was pumping at the top of Namsan. It’s exhilarating with others at any time of day, even after sundown or 7 pm when the tower is closed. We walked up the sidewalk on one side along a padded track, and descended the historical route past the original Seoul City Wall—destroyed by the Japanese (1910) but once greater than the Great Wall of China. The head of trail is across Sowol-ro from Millennium Hilton hotel behind Seven Luck Casino for the base of the mountain—above Hoehyeon line 4 subway station elevator around exit 7. Namsan “South Mountain” preserves a portion of the ancient city wall (500+ years old) and the last bastion where Korean resistance fighters defended the city against modern Japan. It’s a 15 minute walk along Seollo trekking overpass /elevator at the bottom street, up past Millennium /smiling emoji Buddhist building from Namdaemun market. The flashy K Gallery of lights and YooHoo /Pokémon Games plaza (2F underground) is a draw for kids, while adults like the nicer restaurant dining above the 4th floor in the observatory. (A couples’ pass or gift shop—open later until past 9 pm—greeted tired trekkers.) Otherwise, taking the subway and walking from MyeongDong, it’s more than a 3 km hike uphill; half of the climb will be stairs to the top from the concrete overpass. Lovers’ locks in the thousands add ‘weight’ to the vista-experience. We didn’t see any locks dated before 2019. Wear good walking shoes, and late at night, don’t expect much to be open except vending machines with drinks for sale—bring cash (KRW) and a good camera. The gondola keeps running and costs close to $60, depositing riders above the Lotte shopping district of MyeongDong.

This is a must see if you are in Seoul. You can either take the cable car to the top or walk to the top for free. We opted to take the cable car because you'll be doing lots of walking else where. There are restaurants at the top of the hill and you can talk go to the top the the Namsan tower but that will be an additional fee.
Recommend bringing a lock as there is a tradition of signing locks and putting them up on the fences. I didn't quite get why people doing it but the kids seemed to enjoy it.

Beautiful (and free!) park to explore in Seoul. Can either take a cable car or walk (or take a bus?) up the beautiful road. Would recommend going early in the morning (at least in the summer) both to avoid the heat and because it's open before the more "classic" tourist attractions open.

This was a great alternative to taking the Namsan Cable Car. We enjoyed walking along the Seoul City Walls while checking out the great view of the city. Museum and displays along the way made it a worthwhile visit.

I believe there is. I saw lots of families parking them as they got in line to ride the cable car to the top.

You don't take a taxi because the fee is expensive. You should take subway line 3 or 4 at Chungmuro station, go out of exit 2 to the right of Daehan Multiplex entrance - take the yellow bus 2 at the bus stop in front of the subway station - get off at the N Seoul tower bus stop
