Nice change of pace. Part of Coptic Cairo and they say Jesus Christ lived here for 3 years when he was a year old. Good church from inside and you are allowed to take pics but no flashes.

I found this church to be as interesting as the nearby and more famous Hanging Church. In addition to having a nice clean, remodeled interior, you can go to the underground crypt to see where Mary, Joseph and Jesus hid.

As a pastor, I had never thought much about Jesus' time in Egypt as a child. The story is that he stayed here for 3 months. Definitely worth seeing, many used to make pilgrimages to this site for centuries and still do.
