The place is great but went there and some of the areas were closed due to maintenance works. Inside the mosque is very beautiful. need to remove your shoes , so bring a bag along.

Beautiful place if you looking to feel old Cairo nice view and if you going in the summer make sure to have umbrella and water, try to move in group with tour guide as the area around is not safe.

The Mosque Mohammed Ali is located inside the area of the Citadel. The mosque was nothing special and I only gave it 2 **. But the view from the Citadel over Cairo is magnificient, so the Citadel itself deserve 5 *****! A perfect place to see all Cairo from the highest point. Imagining how Salah Eldin build such a huge castel, how solders and leaders lived inside, the comunity these days ... is amazing. You can spend full day there to visit the militar museum and gawhara palace and for sure mohamed ali mosque.

this is a huge citadel, located in the hart of the city. masjid al mohamad ali is located with in it. its huge and called as Qaala or citadel of saladin. it gets closed at 430 pm, so reach there before to see it full. entry fee is 20 EGP. and u can enjoy nice panaromic view of cairo from... More
