Old church with awesome interior. Can be crowded because of a lot of tour groups that come here with their cameras on. It will be hard to pray here, if you like it. I'm not sure whether they have any service on Sundays / Saturdays / Fridays (how they observe it).

This Hanging Church in Cairo is the most renowned Coptic Church. In Arabic known as " Al - Myallaqah " ( the suspended ) because it was built above a gatehouse of the Roman " Fort of Babylon " in old Cairo. The Hanging Church is known for its 11th century marble pulpit, inlaid screens, icons and murals. Free entrance!! what a difference, seems like I have to pay for everything I do in egypt, but not here. The hanging church is the most beautiful... there's some other churches too.

This church is located in the district of a Christian community in Cairo that is very rich in history about how Christianity has come to exist in Egypt. To appreciate the cluster of churches you see here, one should be unbiased or impartial in his / her faith and should possess profound religious consciousness.... When travelling, a tripper is expected... More

I had visited the Hanging Church as part of my tour of Coptic Cairo with a private guide. It was interesting to visit a church that goes back to the 4th century A.D. and to see the Arabic influence in the interior architecture of the building. Do note the colourful tile mosaic on the walls of the courtyard in front... More

Recently took visitors to see the Hanging Church and surrounding area in Old Cairo. While this church is typical Coptic it is unique in its construction over the tower of the adjacent Babylon Fortress. You can get local volunteer guides inside the church to explain the details to you. A fascinating visit with so much historical significance.

It was so so, you can appreciate the history behind it, however not much to hang around for, so you could be done in an hour, plus i think i have seen enough churches and temples in my life, however if your into the christian history, especially in egypt, then worth seeing this church established on a roman tower!

I was told I'll find a spectacular architecture of this historic building and all ... after the visit, not much to be seen, perhaps religious Christians would appreciate it, otherwise, really nothing to see or value if you aren't a Christian ... especially the term hanging! that of course you won't find to be true!
