This review is quite late. The Zamalek Area is located in Gezira Island which is a favorite destination for tourists. The attractions you can find here include The Cairo Tower, Opera House & Art Museum, and Gezira Gardens, among others. We took a taxi from the hotel to the Cairo Tower where we enjoyed the panoramic view of Nile River... More

I chose the area because I wanted to get away from the throngs of the city (even though it's still part of Cairo). Plenty of things to see and do on the island. To me since I am a walker most everything is within walking distance (bars, restaurants, grocers, etc.). You just have to venture out and enjoy the sights,... More

The only thing that I liked about Zamalek was the Opera house and art museum, but you could get a good view from your hotel of the Nile and the bridge. The way me and my family discovered Zamalek was by the metro we took a stop at the opera station. When we got out we started wondering where the... More

Zamalek gives one a sense of modernity in a city that sometimes lacks this. Here you will find modern shops, restaurants and services that are often missing from the rest of the city. It is easy to accommodate the most Eastern or Western of needs here. Those who are family-oriented or interested in great nightlife alike will enjoy their time... More

is an affluent district of western Cairo encompassing the northern portion of Gezira Island in the Nile River. The island is connected with the river banks through three bridges each on the east and west sides of the island, including the Qasr al-Nil Bridge and 6th October Bridge. It has witnessed many phases of growth affected by many economic and... More

I have visited Cairo several times, and in my opinion Zamalek is the best place to stay. This time I were there with my girlfriend, and for her this was her first visit to Egypt, so we choose the hotel in Zamalek, sense it's very near the center and from there we can go to anywhere in Cairo within minutes.... It is a very special place in Cairo. There you can see part of the modern history of the architect of Cairo. The houses of early 20th century with the ugly buildings of 1970s. It is still one of the quiet places in down town Cairo by nightthough being very crowded during the day. You will find shops for anything... More

Im so glad I chose Zamalek to spend my 6 days holiday visiting Cairo. Zamalek is one of the higher class areas in Cairo, filled with amazing bars and restaurants on your doorstep. As a female I felt comfortable roaming the streets on my own, of course covered up in long trousers and reasonable length on my arms. When I... More

My sister actually lived in this island when she studied in Egypt and it the best of all. It is very safe with great tiny shops good for souvenirs and handmade items. It also have tons of good restaurants around.
