Take a break from the hustle & bustle of Cairo and enjoy a leafy stroll. Plenty of shops, restaurants hotels, and coffee shops to explore & enjoy.

I have enjoyed several stays in Zamelek. It has great hotels, places to eat, shopping and it is quite easy to walk around. From here you can get to some major attractions such as the museum and other cultural venues easily

Best place to stay but you can get easily lost so do not make a wrong turn or you will get lost. Good stores and food.

Zamalek is a sweet place to base yourself if you have the money for the hotels on the island. There are great cafes and eateries throughout the island and it is a stone's throw away from the Museum.

Great place to stay, very safe and very nice people around. I wouldn't wondering alone after dark just in case, but during the day, walking along Nile coast very relaxing.

Some of the best restaurants which locals go to can be found here. Many are in walking distance of each other. Abou el-Seid & Aperitivo were standouts.

A nice view of the river, and some nice dining places if you know what to look for. Al-Jazeera palace (Cairo Marriot) is an interesting place to see
