Again Mira was the center of this trip. She helped us through and patiently told us the history of the Pharos, the SPHYNX, etc...

We stayed at the Mena House and from there you can walk to the Sphinx and pyramids, the size of the sphinx is staggering.... built thousands of years ago and still there !! I never knew that it was buried under sand at one point.....More

I guess the sphinx is always shown with the pyramids in the background in such a way that it looks far larger than it actually is. It was certainly great to see it up close.

We were part of the Viking Pathways of the Pharaohs trip, so all accommodations were arranged for us. The hotels in Cairo at the beginning and end of the trip were wonderful.

You can book your hotel around the pyramids online. Hotel can arrange for your pickup from airport as well as your to Pyramids and Egyptian museum.
