I strongly recommend visiting this organization. They do a wonderful work in providing care for free for horses and donkeys. I really appreciate their education work, which is key for improving the life of the animals.

They gave us a insightful tour in English. I was really happy to see that the animals are taken good care of here.

The institution is based on donations, so if you wanna make a difference, that's the place to go!

Luxor has many amazing sights but the very best is ACE. Just a few minutes out of the frenetic city bustle you will find a peaceful, life-changing oasis (yes, there IS an oasis in Luxor!) where animals' lives are changed every day. A small dedicated team of vets and support staff bring desperately needed care to the working horses and donkeys of Luxor who are an essential lifeline to their owners. There is so much suffering to be relieved and this small charity is making a real difference. Lack of money, education and a culture of not recognizing that animals are sentient results in immense suffering of the working horses and donkeys every day and, without ACE, there would be no relief. Pets too are treated as pet owning becomes more popular. There are always inpatients in their hospital and you will be able to meet some of the wonderful animals and gain an insight into the harsh realities of being a working animal in Luxor. I promise you will be moved by the fabulous work going on in this little haven for animals and there is no language barrier when speaking to animals. They will understand your kind words. You will also learn how you can help them when you get back home. If you can thread a needle you can make a soft noseband and make life better for a horse or donkey - and that's just the start! Just around 100 Egyptian pounds will get you there in a taxi - it's that simple. Do visit - I promise the experience will stay in your heart long after your holiday ends. Take carrots!

I have become a supporter of ACE after spending two half days watching the dedicated veterinarians in action. They provide much needed care to sick and injured animals at no cost to their owners. Bravo to the whole team!! And a big shout out to Helen who keeps the organization going as a volunteer!

One of the highlights of our time in Luxor! Any visitor to Egypt is immediately struck by the number of stray cats and dogs, as well the number of animals being used in the tourist trade. For folks committed to animal welfare, it can be a heartbreaking sight. Finding ACE and seeing the incredible care they provide to critters of all sizes was a delight. We truly enjoyed seeing their incredible facility, watching them provide care to the city's animals, and meeting many, many adorable kitties, pups, donkeys, and horses. Very much worth a visit for any animal lover, and a charity very deserving of our support.

Wonderful charity which I would highly recommend you visit. Absolutely vital service to Luxor and provides education to owners and children. Is improving animal welfare through both practical veterinary care and education. This service makes a huge difference to Luxors working animals, farm animals, street dogs, cats and pets alike.

To see how much love and attention the staff give the horses, donkeys, cats and dogs in their care was amazing. All of it free of charge and without judgement on the locals, many of whom can't afford veterinary care. Many of the animals arrive with bad injuries. Their devotion and compassion made me feel humble. Plus I had a chance to cuddle this tiny puppy before it was adopted and of course Ginge the cat. A real bruiser and adorable. An hour of my life very well spent.

I volunteered as an Equine Veterinary Nurse for 2 weeks at ACE.
The charity does amazing work in treating the working horses and donkeys of Luxor and the local dogs and cats too. All the animals in their care are so well cared for. Their knowledge and hard work is inspiring and much needed for the families that rely on their horses and donkeys for an income.
