We visited Karnak in Jan 2023 and it was amazing and worth a few hours. We went with our guide Ghada Hagagy with Egypt Tailor Made and we loved her. We told her of my interest in photography so she organized enough free time at each site so I'd be satisfied. Ghada took us on 4 additional tours around Karnak - Valley of the Kings, Queens, nobles, workers village, etc. She is so knowledgeable and warm, we loved learning from her.

We took a taxi from Iberotel to Karnak, and a horse carriage back. Karnak is very big, and the scale of the columns is mind blowing. How this was constructed is hard to imagine. The Avenue of Sphinxes that runs 2 km to Luxor Temple is amazing, such ashame so many are damaged. It was fairly busy when we visited, but due to the size it did not feel crowded. Thoroughly recommended.

Forms part of Karnak temple. Lovely. Have a walk around and look at all the details. Can do without a tour guide but if you prefer more information get a good tourguide. We went without a tour guide and enjoyed it. There were lots of information boards. Time: approx between 1hour and 3hours. Tips: comfortable shoes and water.

Visited as part of a small group tour from UK.
This site is interesting,at every turn,every column,
Would have been happy to spend half a day there.
Busy but site is very big.

Great place to see and visit. It does cover an expansive area. If you visit on a hot day it feels even hotter as the stone radiates the heat so take plenty of water. There is a small bizarre also which is full of non genuine Egyptian products

Fascinating area, very quiet so you can browse at your leisure. Initially looks a bit like a store yard but seeing how stones have been found and how incredible it must be to work out what they are and where they go is like tackling a giant jigsaw!

You can visit this area as a part of your Karnak experience. This is a place to slow down and look at architectural details. Do not let the insisting locals who demand money spoil your visit.

Often missed by visitors,this little gem of an open air museuam showing shrines and walls removed as rubble from the pylon walls and excavtions in the temple grounds and re-constucted on this site.

Now this is going to be very interesting as to a reply I may get.The reason I make that statement is because people may think I am being pedantic.However it is a very valid question which is,Why do people keep using the description of Open Air Museum.Check any dictionary and the definition of Museum is,A ROOM or BUILDING for the preservation or exhibition of objects illustrating antiquities.So there is no such thing as an Open air museum. The better terminology would be an open air heritage site.
