Help for traveling in Luxor area
May 2021
Absolutely amazing. The history that is associated with this temple is amazing. And wonderful people. If you want help traveling to the Valley of the Kings or to other temples in the area, I was lucky enough to meet a very serious and well-informed person, Ashraf +201008942985

Luxor Temple

Terrific temple. You can see the Paris Obelisk's sibling in front of the main gates and if you walk in the opposite direction you will see the southern end of the Avenue of the Sphinxes connecting the Luxor Temple and Karnak Temple. The entry fee is covered by the Luxor Pass

Luxor Temple at dusk.
Oct 2021 • Solo
I went through Jakada Tours for my wonderful experience of touring Luxor Temple. Ahmed Fayed arranged everything for me! He booked and paid for my 1 hour flight from Cairo to Luxor and back. He had a private car, driver and guide take care of me upon arrival. Lunch at a great restaurant on the Nile River was included and the tour of the temple was timed perfectly so as to see it at dusk to capture the glow of the lights.

Absolutely amazing. The history that is associated with this temple is amazing. You can go alone to photograph the temple or You can get a guide. I would definitely recommend a guide to appreciate the history. It is only once you appreciate the history do you start to understand the meaning of the art, hieroglyphics and statues. A guide should cost you approx 10 english pounds. Simply brilliant, well worth the visit

Important temple of ancient Egypt. A wonderful place to spend hours contemplating the columns and hieroglyphs. You can see a mixture of cultures through the temple. We visit Karnak, Luxor and the Valley of the Kings on the same day, but there you can spend more time in each place much better. Mandatory stop in Luxor.

Luxor and Karnak Temple Top Rated Attraction
Oct 2021
Luxor and Karnak temples are top rated attractions in Luxor along with the Valley of the Kings. To me they looked much alike. Great ancient statues and temple walls still standing after thousands of years. Egyptians knew a lot about building structures that last. We went with our guide to both. We probably spent about an hour at each. However be warned that Luxor is a really hot location in Egypt and all of our week there in October the temperature during the day was above 100 degrees. Take water and a hat. Luxor has a cafe available to rest. I would suggest going there to cool off a bit before continuing.

Along the river and in the city
Oct 2021 • Couples
Interesting history at this temple along the river. The temple was built in several sections over time and a mosque was added much later. Some very well preserved statues and pillars.

The Luxor Temple is a large Ancient Egyptian temple complex located on the east bank of the Nile River in the city today known as Luxor and was constructed approximately 1400 BCE. In the Egyptian language it is known as ipet resyt, "the southern sanctuary".

Good quick trip spot.
Jan 2021
This is a fairly unique experience especially once you've been in Egypt for a little while and you've seen dozens upon dozens of tombs and are starting to get sick of them. It's an easy walk or ride from most places in Luxor, and a different "above ground" vibe.

It's a quick trip, I didn't spend more than an hour here, but still definitely some cool structures and fun photo ops. From here you can go visit the souks, grab some juice or falafel, and/or take a little cruise down the Nile.

PS the date is wrong (I went 2007, but it wouldn't let me backdate)

Not as large or impressive as Karnak but definitely an amazing place to visit while in Luxor. Also can find Alexander the Great’s cartouche here
