Before beginning my review let me explain that I had a previous experience of doing a ballon ride at Capadoccia in Goreme's park, Turkey, which was one of my best experience. Having said that and after 6 days of safaris in different places including the Mara my expectations about the ride (considering how high the price we paid was) were... More

To float for miles over the savanna at sunrise....amazing. I had never been in a hot air balloon which by itself is very nice. Add the beauty of the Maasai Mara reserve and a very knowledgeable guide, Riz, and you are in for a memorable time. Every detail was well thought out. Even the coffee at the breakfast under a... My son and I took the early morning ( left our camp in the rain at 4:30 AM) flight. We had an hour + delay because we had to wait for the sky's to clear of a storm. Our captain had been flying balloons for over ten years and I felt very safe. The beauty of flying over the Mara... More

I mean, you have to do this in your life. You just have to. Day starts with a pick up from your hotel; the drive will depend on how far your lodge/camp is from the place. Upon arrival at the site you register then offered a hot beverage as the balloon is being prepped up. Boarding is soon after and... More

If you haven't done a balloon ride, it's difficult to convey the magic in words. From the minute we arrived at the "take off" zone, regardless of the different nationalities & cultures, the sense of excitement was palpable from children to Grandparents. This is an absolute must do on anyone's bucket list & the $40 video is so worth the... More

This was our first hot-air balloon experience, and a late add-on to our itinerary in the Maasai Mara. It is an early day; we were told to be ready for pickup from our camp at 4:20AM, but the driver arrived just before 4:00AM. Fortunately we were ready. The trip to the next pickup point, Sarova Mara, was basically a night-time... More

The balloon safari was a breathtaking experience! To float across the Mara plains over a spectacular sunrise and to see the wildlife from a different vantage point was stunning. It was a smooth ride with our humorous pilot Ray! This special experience was captured in pics by Ray, as we floated over the Mara... The delicious champagne breakfast inside the... More

We booked with Hot Air Safaris our balloon ride in advance. But on the day of the ride noone picked us up from our hotel. They postponed the ride to the next day.

This was an amazing way to spend the morning! You're picked up at your hotel at about 5 in the morning, depending on where you're based and taken to the start point in the park. At 6 they start filling the balloons and then you're off. The take off was so gentle we didn't even realise that we were off... More

I was visited at my camp by rep from Hot Air Balloons to explain the next day's plans etc. We were collected at 5am and taken to the departure point. This meant lying down flat inside the basket and it gradually stood up before we left the ground. Flight was around an hour with plenty of jokes from the pilot... More
