Bombolulu Workshop may be refer to as a distant Carnivore restaurant of Nairobi located in Mombasa. Without the culinary variety of carnivore, Bombolulu (check the proper spelling) is gradually trying to imitate the world renowned Carnivore with some little success. it is run through charitable initiatives by the Association of the Physically Disabled People of Kenya (APDK)

We wanted to go there as we both work in healthcare. Lovely project going on for 50 years. We went there on our own and a bit late so we didn't see any of the touristic shows. We saw the workshops and chatted with the workers. We bought our souvenirs there. Price is good and everything goes to a good... More

Was once a great place till bodabodas got the roads so crowded there is hardly no space left to walk. Inside the workshop though is a world of fascination and awe.

I am biased as I worked at this crafts workshop in 2003-2005 with VSO. We had a hard time persuading tourists to leave their hotel compounds to come and visit us - to meet the artisans, to see the 4 workshops in action, to learn about how fair trade helped and of course to dine in the restaurant and shop... I got there with a few pre occupancies - but the visit was different. We saw the workshop for wheel chairs, metal, wood, textile. All well organized and supported with lots of German, Suisse and US money. We bought a bag that was quite nice and not expensive at all, but something thta also looks good once back in Europe

Please visit Bombollulo. This is a charity which provides people with disabilities with the skills to be able to work independently. They have accommodation for the the clients and their families which is amazing. A tour of the workshops is a must and only costs a small donation to your guide. The workmanship on display is amazing and everyone is... More

The Cultural Centre is a really educative place on Kenyan past history and the end of the tour entertainment by traditional dancers is very wonderful. Also the shop has a big variety of wonderful products to choose from. After the tour, lunch, entertainment and shopping one really feels good about her day. And best of all you go away knowing... Had a very interesting tour at this workshop, a wide variety of souvenirs available produced by disabled people, By visiting and buying articles you are supporting those people with honest work.
