We visited the Great Wall at the end of April and we couldn't have asked for better weather. The wall was such an incredible sight that stretched out for miles. There's so much history here and it truly amazing how it was built.

Steep climb, uneven steps, big crowd, hot day, didn't get to climb too far (maybe age was against us) but still was a wonderful experience & in awe at just being there. Nice gift shops & cafe at ground level.

Part of Trip A Deal Tour. Was a little hazy, which seems to be the norm. Arrived at 11.15 and the temp was 35 degrees plus, so suggest do either earlier or later as we only had 2 hours which made it hard for lots to get to the top. Wall was as grand as expected. There is a hard... More

A relatively 'easy' climb here - even for those who are not terribly active. At least you could say that you had climbed some of the wall. A toilet at the bottom by a craft shop was appreciated (but bring your own paper ladies) and the tourist shop right at the bottom had some interesting things in it.

The highlight of my trip to China. I have always wanted to visit the Great Wall and this did not disappoint. The wall itself is majestic, but is very hard to climb. It is steep with quite high steps and each step seems to be a different height, which means you have to pay close attention to where you are... More

This is my second visit to the Great Wall and I am still amazed by the wall and people who built it. The last time I claimed a different section of the wall so this time I spent some time looking at other parts of the complex. If you cannot climb the steps there are shop to see and to... More

We were part of a Sinorama travel group. We arrived after lunch and had about 3 hours to explore the Juyong Pass of the Great Wall. At first, we were a bit shocked at the steep climb, uneven steps and limited hand rails but SLOWLY we moved up with the many other tourists. What a GREAT experience. Of course, we... More

I had been to the Great Wall in 1989 so I'm sure that I was at the Badaling section of the Great Wall then; tourism in China was still in its infancy and that is where President Nixon had visited. It was steep but not steep like the Juyong Pass. This was a really interesting section since the Great Wall... More
