A neat shopping street, which is too commercial for me. It is car free, that's nice, very clean, but the nice parts are the sidestreets.

One of the oldest and famous pedestrian streets of Beijing! so many shops and restaurants around this huge area, all connected by the main central street where theres a tram line that passes only durinh Chinese holidays, is better to visit on the weekends as it's a bit desert during the week due to his vastness!

A famous pedestrian street across from Tiananmen Square and Jianlou (Archery Tower). Western stores like Starbucks, Haagen-Dazs, Zara, H&M & Sephora have a presence here together with traditional Chinese brands like Quanjude, Yitiaolong and Changchuntang. There is even a Madam Tussards here. A tram runs silently down the middle of the street ferrying sightseers in the area. Buildings here are... More

Fantastic collection of stores and snack outlets. We enjoyed the shopping experience here, for authentic chinese products, from silk scarves to the chinese seals carved with your Chinese name!! Highly recommended!

It's not so much the street but the whole area which is making a visit worthwhile. The street was one of the first modern boulevard-like street in China. It dates back to the beginning of the 20th century. The old buildings have all been refurbished now with a lot of new and partly quite pricy shops. The street as such... More

Qianmen pedestrian shopping street (Chinese name: 前门大街(qián mén dà jiē) is over 570-year old, 840-metre-long, and located a few blocks from Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. Most of the building styles vary from those constructed in 1644 to 1911. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it went by the name Zhengyangmen Street. The street and buildings were substantially renovated... More

All around this area you will enjoy one of the best and most attractive part of the old Beijing. I had my hotel here and I would have change position for the world. All pedestrian area.

I went to Beijing on business in May and September 2016. The Qianmen Main Street Mall (Qianmen Da Jie) is on the other side of Tiananmen Square away from the Forbidden City. It has many shops and restaurants. If you have enough time during your visit to Beijing I would include it. But personally I like other Beijing shopping areas... More
