Little far from Beijing downtown but close to Yangqi lake, Qinglong Gorge is a very big place (empty mostly, with some man-made mountains and plastic wild life) offering some distraction to the visitors that come every week: Bungee Jump (300 RMB, a little expensive), wall climing (50 RMB), Zip Line (80 RMB), bamboo canoe rental (30 RMB) and small motored... We were driven to another mountain and waterfall region, called Qinglong Xia. - reservoir dam with dragon shaped lake - nice cable car ride to Great Wall towering a few hundred meters above the reservoir. We hiked down which offered some great vistas into the Huairou scenery and mountains. (~ 1 hour) - daredevils may enjoy bungee jumping, wall climbing, etc. - good with kids because hikes are easy and lots of... More

I recommend to combine a trip to this beautiful park with visiting the great wall. the park is vary nice you have a trip in a boat and some other nice activities and the view is outstanding. it can get quite cold in this area so take warm clothes.
