We got bus 877 from Deshengmen (exit B2 from Jishuitan subway station, just follow the signs & crowds) it was manic getting on the bus but only cost 7rbm each & took approx 1hr to get there. There are huge crowds once you get there, don't join the queue when you get off the bus (unless you want to get... More

One of the most impressive places in the world, spectacular. Though many thousands of kilometer the Great Wall only few areas can be visited. Schedule the tour in advance.

Absolutely amazing to see and climb. Tough going but the view is so worth it, breathtaking scenic route and steeped quite literally in rich and amazing history. Would totally recommend the visit

What you need to know, before to go on the great wall, wear a comfortable walking boots / shoes with good sole! There are steep climb in some of wall periods... More

I cannot bring a suitable word to appreciate the amount of work put into this with the very preliminary tools of that era! Walking shoes, water, fitness, and one or a couple of mates would be great. There are a lot of people (even Chinese) who visit this amazing beauty on tours, but I thought it was rather waste of... More

Honestly I was a bit skeptic of the hype that surrounds seeing The Great Wall, however walking along the wall is easily one the best experiences in my life. It's such a surreal experience it's difficult to explain. The size, and beauty of the landscape is unreal. While taking in all there is to offer visually, I was also amazed... More

We visited the Badaling wall late in the afternoon on a Saturday. It was not a holiday or anything in China. We parked in Number 1 car park. The wall is a must see item in China. Quite simply it needs to be seen to be believed. Just walking it is an effort, let alone building it! We decided to... More
