This building dates from the 1950s and is a typical Russian rather than Chinese design still worth seeing to make the comparison.

Close to the forbidden city and it's old buildings is this modern and huge building. It nice that they kept so much details in the design.

Another monument. Another BIG monument. Another busy day. Overall still worth a quick look, but don;t get too excited by this. Stop by on your way to the Forbidden City.

The building is getting on a little, but this in itself is testimony to how the Chinese go about building things. It's a massive building to the west of Tian'anmen Square, where the National People's Congress is held and where state leaders hold diplomatic meetings....More

The power of chinese communist party comes from this building. Very very political building. It is in the center of the city around tiananmen square.

The Great Hall is right next to the Tiananmen Square in the heart of the city. It's a huge complex which houses the policy makers of China, though entry is restricted only to officials & People's representatives and not open for General Public.
