Located only a few hundred meters from the existing Summer Palace, these ruins used to be a grand palace and park built under the Qing emperors in the 18th century, but was later destroyed by French and British troops during the Second Opium War (1860-1862).

Went during CNY $25 RNB to enter gives you access to the park , the gardens and the small scale model of the park, to appreciate it you would need a full day to be able to go around the whole park it is huge....More

The is a recreation of what it would have looked like when first built, its been well done and worth the 30 mins to walk around the edge on both sides, has various art shops and stalls.
