Stayed at the Jen hotel next door and walked around the mall. Large and has 3 major sections - north, central and south. North has Fao Schwatz toystore and south has some of the luxury brands - Louis vuitton et al

Upper floors has some restaurants , nothing exceptional

There’s a cineplex in the basement

Huge high-end luxury mall. All in all we went to the mall four days out of our five night stay in Beijing, each day discovering more and more areas that we had not yet covered! One day we even battled to find our exit and got lost!

Extensive variety of good restaurants/cafes - many of which boast a stunning view of the CCTV, a large supermarket, karaoke booths, mini ice rink, etc.

The 30,000 square foot FAO Schwarz is located at China World Mall in the shopping and lifestyle district of Chaoyang, where it will keep company with other luxury brands including Louis Vuitton, Prada and Burberry. It is 40 per cent larger than the existing flagship outlet at the Rockefeller Center in New York city.

Located at line 10 - GuoMao subway station exit E1 is a longer way into the mall. There is an exit direct into level B2 of the mall (forgot to see the exit number though). This mall houses High-end branded boutiques and higher priced restaurants. If you are looking to buy items from internationally known brands then this is the place to go, a one-stop mall. Not all shops were fully opened and renovation works are still going on at the exteriors.

When you have a mall that is in city central, it usually has lesser foot traffic on weekends especially on a Sunday. As such I recommend if you want to spend a lazy afternoon, it is best to visit a mall like this one. Be it the restaurants or the shops, the pace is slower and thus I personally enjoy it much more.

The ultimate mall in Beijing. All the big brands represented strongly here and a myriad of restaurants.

A massive Louis Vuitton store.

Ridiculously swanky, bourgeois, shopping mall. All the top top brands have shops here, and there’s a huge amount of restaurants and stalls on floor b1.

This brand spanking new mall seems to be mainly where wealthy locals come to flash their cash. Prices are around 20% higher than in Europe so if you are visiting from a Western country there are no bargains to be had.

That said, there there are many restaurants in the complex (if you can find them, as the mall spans several buildings and floors) which was great for us as we stayed in the Hotel Jen. They range from expensive Western ones like the Blue Frog to many much better value Asian options.

There is also an Olé supermarket on B2 level stocking many Western products.

Very new shopping mall with many shops that are yet to opened. Hotels, a wide variety of good restaurants and very high luxury goods stall are all conveniently located here as well. Entertainment facilities such as children playground, ice skating rink, and cinemaplex are also available within the mall. You can even take a shorter walk through the mall to Xiushui Market. The MRT station is nearby as well.

Had a family visit with friends and our young children.
The shopping centre is very big and so easy to get lost in the B1 floor especially in the direction of the subway.

The choices for eating are great but very spread out so you should look and choose from the options in the central area where they are all on display.

For play areas the castle play centre I have to say was nice but not really worth the 198 price. Within 1h the kids were bored and left. For this price it should be much larger and with more kids activities or games and area, (my reference point is fun dazzle which was less than 100 for 3h and the kids were never bored).

Inside is very new and clean and especially the toilets which cannot be said for many other shopping centres.
Well worth the visit.
