The whole Forbidden City complex is jaw droppingly beautiful and really has to be seen to be believed. The Gate of Great Harmony is absolutely majestic as befits it's surroundings. It is huge and ornate with a stunning roof and all sorts of carvings in...More

This is the second major gate in the south of the Forbidden City. Huge and impressive, this provides a great backdrop for photographs without too many tourists.

When visiting the Forbidden City this is one location that you may be able to get a tourist photograph without other tourists in it. Good luck.

A beautiful gate with interesting concrete work and statues. Classical Chinese architecture and very photogenic.

My recollection of visiting is that the correct name was Gate of Supreme Harmony. The first of many featured buildings as you enter the Forbidden City.
