Great learning activity

Really enjoyed walking around and seeing the demonstrations of calligraphy. This is a great day to pass a day take a cab or bus to location, no need for a tour service.

This political and cultural center in asia (World?) is an absolut must to see. See flag come up and down at sunrise and sunset. See the lights in the night and life in daytime. Can be crowded in the Security lines.

Lots of security check, long line and it possible for crowds of visitors to make their way. It was so amazing to see it with my own eyes. Be prepared to walk a good couple of hours. Worth every penny

The Tiananmen gate was so huge and overpowering, It is typically chinese architecture in the center of Beijing and great square with the most important Beijing monuments around it. It took us quite a long time to try and walk around the whole place.

Not much to see culturally inside but worth a visit to get a good view over Tiananmen Square. Inside it is nicely decorated with lounging areas where the dignitaries and leaders sit before major celebrations.

If u don't want the hassle of queuing and waiting in line during the afternoon, come at night. With the lights illuminating the gate, the place looks more regal. And also not many people around. Come at 9-10 PM

It is overwhelming the size of the square. On one side one can see the forbidden city, on the opposite side Mao´s tomb and behind it, what used to be the entrance door to Beijing and, on its side, government buildings which contrast with the magnificence of the square.

it was just one courtyard but it's much much bigger. The buildings are ornate, amazing quite ornate. Try to be there at least once at dawn or sunset. Also try to see the hutongs when leaving the Forbidden City.

This is people hall, you will see nationalism in china if you go near china's independence day. You will see people stay overnight near this area just to respect their flag. Must visit place if you are in Beijing
