This is immediately next to the Confucius Temple and you effectively go from one to the other. It was originally the centre of scholarship in imperial China, but most of that has gone now, and there's just a series of rooms down the eastern side...More

Can't imagine there were security guards or police smoking at the ticket-selling place at the main entrance. Smoking may cause fire which may damage this precious heritage. In addition, the doors to every exhibition rooms have been replaced by the ugly and dirty plastic strips...More

I was there with an English speaking guide called Dream. The trip was booked through China Hilights. It is a informative place how scholarship in the past worked and a different look on Imperial times in China. My guide was very knowledgeable on the subject.

You will learn a lot about Chinese education history, it is very fascinating. We were there with a guide, we truly appreciated explanations and it helped to make this activity even more interesting. Not as crowded as other locations in Beijing.

The architecture is beautifully restored and the information contained within is educational. If you are history or education interests, I highly recommend this site.

Connected to the Confusion Temple, the Imperial College presents a historical look at the examination process for Chinese students. The exhibits are in both English and Mandarin, so it's easy to follow. The surrounding pedestrian streets provide lots of options to eat lunch, so this...More

After visiting the Temple of Confuscius, my guide and I walked directly next door to this site, where we spent SIGNIFICANTLY more time, primarily because I was TRULY fascinated...not just by the architecture, but also the history associated with site. If time permits, I would...More
